05-03-2011.-” The Japanese Red Cross in Port-a-Piment has taken over the full operation of the CTU as well as the ambulance coordination since February 1st.

However, the British Red Cross will complete the renovation of the facility.  Up to date, the Japanese Red Cross has treated 552 patients and the Japanese Red Cross has finalized the management structure of CTU to become more independent and doing capacity building training with local human ressources.

Furthermore, the CTU in Port a Piment will extend until April 30th 2011 but the Japanese Red Cross is looking at the new Hospital in Port a Piment as one of the promising candidate for the handing over. They are currently in discussion with MSPP.”
