Fête des retrouvailles à Port-à-Piment

 .- La fête des retrouvailles approche à grand pas. Port-a-Piment sera prête , nous dit-on, à recevoir tous ses fils, filles et amis en Juillet prochain. L’engouement est palpable.  Cet important évènement permettra à plus d’un de se remémorer le bon vieux temps.  L’association GIPPN , annonce que  la fête de Retrouvailles  et de l”amitié se tiendra du 12 au 15 Juillet 2012. Un riche programme est prévu durant ces jours de fête:

From July 16th to July 19th 2012, K P P (Konbit Pou Potapiman) will team up with AMH (Association des Médecins Haitiens) to provide free health care clinics in Port-a-Piment, Chardonnieres and Roche-a-Bateau. This year, the emphasis will be put on patient education and on promoting adherence to routine medical check ups.

From July 23rd to August 3rd, 2012 , K P P will conduct its first Summer camp for kids aged between 7 and 16 years old. The kids were chosen based on their school average ( 8 over 10 or higher) and among the 7 primary and 2 secondary schools in Port-à-Piment. This Camp will be a first in the county of Port-a-Piment. One of the goals is to help build self-esteem and encourage the children to develop their unique abilities.

30 Juin 2012.– Il n’y a pas de grand changement dans les prix des produits sur le marché portapimentais. Mis à part le sucre qui a chuté de 30 gourdes, la majorité des prix est relativement stable durant le mois de Juin par rapport au mois précédent . Le tableau ci-après illustre bien la tendance.

Members of CLASS of ’72 ASSOCIATION Inc in Port-a-Piment

 19 Juin 2012.- Members of the Class of ‘72 Association of Haiti went to Port-a-Piment on Saturday May 12th, 2012 to meet with Dr. Jean Richard Vital, Medical Director at the local hospital. The members were Dr. Myrna Beaubeuf, Dr. Laurent Eustache and Dr. Gerard Joseph. They were satisfied with their visit, which was in preparation for the mission of evaluation scheduled for May 28-29 by members of the Class of ’72 living abroad.

On May 25th, 2012, members of the Class of ’72 accompanied by Konbit Pou Potapiman Inc Vice-President, Mrs Colette St Gerard, met with the Health Minister, Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume. On May 28th, 2012, other members living abroad — Dr. Ducarmel Augustin, Dr. Renee Desmarattes, Dr. Henriot St-Gerard and Dr. Louis Charles Levros — along with Dr. Paul Lunis, KPP Inc Vice-President, Mrs. Colette St-Gerard and Mrs. Monique Augustin, met with the Departmental Director, Dr. Jean Bernard Février. Later that day, the group met with Dr. Vital, the Medical Director and Mr. Schiller St-Vil, the hospital administrator. They toured the hospital and  shared their insights into the medical needs of the hospital. They also held a very positive meeting with the personnel.

On May 29th, members of the Class of ’72 returned to the hospital for a session on Diabetes and Hypertension conducted by Dr. Augustin and Dr.  Levros.

 More than 125 people attended the session, and the question-and-answer period lasted almost one hour.
