9-03-14.-“Club Synergic de Port-a-Piment” is a membership driven body that pools young people from across the town with a collective ambition to revitalize Port-a-Piment and make it what it ought to be: a beautiful place to visit.
Last July, in a show of will, they took to the streets and cleaned the entire town. After the festivities of the “Fêtes des Retrouvailles”, they went back on the streets and this time picked up all plastic bottles that were left on the ground.
Despite our busy schedule, we had the opportunity to meet the members twice. First it was about their vision and goals. One of their goals is to encourage young people to become active citizens by participating in different cultural activities such as dance, theater, excursion and sports. Second, they were looking for support and encouragement.
We were then invited to visit their workshop. At the Rue du Port, we found young men and women at work with their scissors, hammers, knifes etc. transforming and manufacturing plastic bottles into brooms, cups, vases and flowers.
