The Sponsorship Program of KPP was started in 2009 to help the families displaced after the passage of Hurricane Hannah and Gustav. It has now expanded to include other primary school children who attend various institutions in Port a Piment and who are in great financial need.
Many children enjoy a delayed opportunity to attend school for the first time, and some were recommended due to academic achievement. In 2010, 24 children benefited from the program.
A KPP Sponsorship covers the child’s tuition, and books. It may also offer school uniforms, book bag and other school supplies as funds permit.
